What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray·Kee) is a Japanese form of energy healing where your practitioner utilizes techniques to guide the flow of energy to key points in the body, promoting relaxation and positive experiences.
Reiki is pure life force energy - it’s the energy that’s shared among people, animals, plants - and all living things!
At it’s essence, the frequency of Reiki energy is balanced, compassionate, replenishing and healing.
Reiki is beneficial for clients have experienced trauma, suffer from anxiety, stress or emotional blockages. It’s also for those seeking healing or looking for a deeper spiritual connection.

The Practical Explanation:
Reiki is a natural stress relieving practice that offers the mind and body space to rest. Once the body is in this relaxed state, your brilliant nervous system knows how to initiate the release of hormones and chemicals that aid in your body’s restoration and repair (dopamine, seratonin, oxytocin to name a few). When the body releases the resistance it’s had to hold, we feel that part of the body let go of accumulated stored stress. The body softens, fascia hydrates and the cells, tissues, muscles, organs and systems are able to communicate and vibrate in synchronicity. There is an organization and coherence that is natural to your body.
Science hasn’t explained the how or why yet - but I believe we humans are designed to be incredible responsive to one another. Our modern culture demands that we numb our intuitive skills -because the sensitivity wasn’t valued. Times are changing! Our senses are intuitive sources of information for us. The more we feel safe in a state a of relaxation, the more we’re able to hear our inner quiet indicators.
The Reiki practitioner has practiced being a conduit for Universal Energy in order to share it with others. Through mutual intention, a practioner holds space, without expectation for the client to BE. To release, rest,relax and to feel connected to their source.
The Spiritual Explanation:
We are all energy- we are vibrational beings withour own unique frequency. Our frequency is heavily influenced by the thoughts we think regularly. Those thoughts create beeling and belief systems (that can limit us from seeing the limitless options available). Our emotions, thoughts and beliefs guide our nervous system at an subconscious level (aka the autonomic nervous system)- and determine if our body is dominantly is a flight/ flight / freeze/ fawn state. Over time these practiced states become habitual.
Other nervous system states like rest/ relaxation/ rejuvenation are also available to us, but require practice if they’re not familiar to us. Typically a deep feeling of safety is need to get into the experiences of rest for the mind and body.
Chronic illness is sometimes the result of chronic loops of thought that create fear/ anxiety/ guilt/ resentment or anger- that we are unable to express or resolve.
Reiki through mutual intention offers your body that deep rest. We create a peaceful, loving environment (absent of expectation) which allows you to activate your nervous system’s natural ability to recenter and balance. We experience a sense of safety with our body’s sensations and our mind’s thoughts that we may have been avoiding from fear. Some people describe reiki as assisted meditation with a person holding space- so that you can go deeper into your own inner senses. Over time, with intentionality and practice we continue to regulate our nervous system.
Our own unique intuitive healing system
The session typically involves the practitioner and recipient connecting through video conferencing, phone calls, or other communication mediums.
The practitioner utilizes various techniques to channel healing energy to the recipient, who may experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, or relaxation.
The session may also include guidance, discussions, and post-session recommendations to support the integration of the healing energy.
Despite the physical separation, individuals often report positive effects and emotional well-being from these distant Reiki sessions.

What Can I Expect from a Remote Reiki Session?
During a virtual Reiki session, I act as a channel for the Reiki (or Ki) to move through 〰️
The Reiki energy clears and strengthens the meridians, chakras, and energy centers throughout your body according to what you need. I sense the energy in different places in the body (similar to an in-person treatment).
While everyone experiences remote Reiki differently, common responses include:
A feeling of relaxation in the mind and body
Physical sensations such as warmth or tingling
An alleviation of physical symptoms
Your mind calming down
A stronger connection to your intuition
You might feel quite alert and aware, or you might drift off
A sense of peace and deep stillness
There’s no right or wrong way to experience Reiki, and it varies from person to person and from session to session.
So how does it feel when you are receiving Reiki virtually?
Keep in mind that your experience is unique to you, but you can expect to feel any of the following sensations throughout your entire body or in specific areas:
Tingling
Pulsing
Lightness
Or, simply nothing
How does a session work?
Prior to your the session, you’ll receive an email with simple recommendations to get the most from your session. You’ll be asked to find a quiet spot in your home and I’ll recommend some relaxing music you can have playing in the background.
At the start of your session, we’ll connect via phone or video. This is a time to share intentions for your session, any specific goals you may have, as well as cover any questions you may have prior to beginning.
Once I understand your goals, I’ll ask you to sit or lay down, get comfortable, and close your eyes.
Settle in as I guide you through a progressive relaxation, balancing the chakras and bringing you to a state of deep calm and relaxation. Throughout, I may also share intuitive messages and visions that emerge.

As you take your first deep breath in, energy begins to flow and your energy cup will start to fill up. Reiki flows through me and from my hands to you — either by directing my hands towards what parts I see of you on the screen or by closing my eyes and visualizing your whole being while imagining that I place my hands on your eyes, ears, legs, heels, etc.
I do not have my eyes on you the whole time, though I will glance at the screen periodically to see how you are doing, With my eyes closed, I can observe and listen to your body’s energy and understand which areas may need attention.
When the session is done, I will guide you back slowly and ask you to open your eyes. Then, we can chat about how you felt and what I observed.
